It is again that time of the year! The kick-off for the Christmas markets was given!

Here are the list of Christmas markets and their opening dates:
First Christmas markets are already open on the weekend of 24-27 November!
23.11 Tollwood Winter Festival
The winter festival Tollwood invites everyone to music, art, shopping, drinking and tasting world food. It is open from Mon to Friday between 14:00 – 01:00 and from Saturday to Sunday between 11:00 to 01:00. For more information check the Tollwood’s website.
23.11 Residenz Christmas Market
Very cute Christmas market in the courtyard of Residenz. You can find many food stalls and watch concerts and shows at the little stage in the center. The market is open every day from 11:00 to 21:00.
Christmas Market at Cosimabad has a fancy name: Christmas Magic Forest. The market is open between 15:00 – 21:00 during the week and between 11:00 – 21:00 from Friday to Sunday. For more information check the website of the Christmas market.
24.11 Winter Magic at Viktualienmarkt
Our Viktualienmarkt has a Christmas market as well. The opening is at 16:30 on Friday, the 24th of August. For all the other days (except Sunday) it is open between 11:00 – 20:00. It is unfortunately closed on Sunday. A novelty this year is the Eisstockschiessen! You can now play Eisstockschiessen in the Viktualienmarkt Christmas market. If you have no idea what I am talking about, here is something I wrote about what Eisstockschiessen is.
24.11 Ice Magic (Eis Zauber)
This is actually not a Christmas market but I wanted to mention it here as it opens at the same time of Christmas market. This is the ice skating rink at Karlsplatz (Stachus). It is open daily between 10:30 – 22:00.
Upcoming Christmas Markets
27.11 Munich Christmas Market (Marienplatz)
The oldest Christmas market is the one at Marienplatz. It is huge, it is central. This year there is a novelty: There will be live music played from the balcony of Rathaus every day at 17:30.
The market will be opened on 27th November at 17:00. It will be open from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 – 21:00 and on Sunday between 10:00 – 20:00.
Everything in the format of the middle ages. It is open between 11:00 – 20:00 every day.
27.11 English Garden Christmas Market
Romantic christmas market by the Chinese Tower. It is open between 10:30 – 21:00.
27.11 Sendlinger Tor Christmas Market
Christmas Market at Sendlinger Tor is open between 10:30 – 21:00.
It is also just next to the stop where Christmas tram takes off. Between 2.12 and 23.12 you can ride with the historical tram throughout the city for half an hour enjoying the Christmas music and Glühwein. The tram works from Monday to Friday between 15:30 and 19:00 and on weekends between 11:00 and 19:30
27.11 Neuhausen Weihnachstmarkt (Rotkreuzplatz)
The Christmas market is open every day from 11:00 to 21:00.
27.11 Pink Christmas (Stephansplatz)
A queer Christmas market with shows every day. It is open from Monday to Friday between 16:00 – 22:00 and from Saturday to Sunday between 12:00 – 22:00.
28.11 Haidhausen Christmas Market
A cute traditional Christmas Markets at Weissenburger Platz. It is open from Sunday to Wednesday between 11:00 – 20:30 and from Thursday to Saturday between 11:00 – 21:00.
30.11 Maerchenbazar (Viehhof)
This is kind of an underground Christmas market with self-made kiosks which offers a mix of art, culture, and music. It is open from Monday to Thursday between 16:00 – 23:00, on Friday between 16:00 – 01:00, on Saturday between 11:00 – 01:00 and on Sunday between 11:00 – 21:00.
01.12 Isartor Feuerzangenbowle
This is where you find the huge bowl of Feuerzangenbowle (gglühwein with rum and sugar loaf) boiling on fire. It is open every day between 11:00 – 22:00
Schwabing Christmas Market takes place at Muenchner Freiheit. Its main focus is arts. The artists display/ sell their works in the stands. It is open from Monday to Friday between 12.00-20.30, on the weekends between 11:00 – 20:30.
